Pumpkin Power.
My last post featured a sweet potato bread sprinkled with pumpkin seeds, but what’s the connection between these little beauties and fertility?
The answer is zinc. An essential mineral important for protein synthesis, DNA synthesis and cell division amongst other things like immune function.
Studies have shown that zinc may support fertility by protecting eggs from oxidative damage during their development, while also helping to promote healthy levels of estrogen and progesterone. Who knew zinc could be such a fertility powerhouse?
Here are just a few examples of where can you get zinc from food:
- Pumpkin seeds
- Sesame seeds
- Cashews
- Oysters
- Crab
- Lamb
- Beef
