Have you heard about the first 1000 days?

No, I hadn’t either before I really started digging into the link between the food we eat, fertility and conception.

The ‘First 1000 Days’ (according to a research paper part funded by Bupa Health Foundation in Sep 2017) is a window of time from conception until your baby’s 2nd birthday. During that window, factors including what you eat can help to impact your child’s future long term health including mental health, food preferences, appetite and insulin resistance.

So, eating well pre-conception and all the way through pregnancy is a good opportunity to not only impact your own health but the future health and wellbeing of your child in a positive way.

Good food really is powerful, helping your body to achieve amazing things!
